10 Ideas For Cheap Romantic Gifts

By Rebecca Osborn

Sometimes getting a gift for your partner can feel overwhelming. How do you pick the perfect token that will reflect how you feel especially if you are on a tight budget.
Hopefully you can use some of these creative, cheap ideas to show your partner just how much you care.

1. Flowers delivered to her work with a personally written love poem rolled up and tied with a ribbon.

2. Tell your partner that you have a surprise for them when they get home from work. Do not let them upstairs when they get home. Have a steaming bubble bath ready and fill the room with candles. Have fresh towels and leave a single rose on the top of them. Tell them to take their time, and when they are finished you will give them a massage.

3. Buy the biggest sheet of poster board you can find, and fold it in half like a gigantic card. Write "101 reasons why I Love..." on the front and on the inside write “YOU” right in the middle, then write the reasons all over the card. These things can be qualities the person has, or it can even be memories. Come up with a list and check them off as you write them on the poster so you don't have to keep going back and actually counting them on the poster. (This gets confusing)

4. Go to a dollar store and buy 14 little gifts. You can give them one day at a time from February 1st to the 14th. Or for the 14 days before their birthday.

5. Do something that brings back memories of your first date together. It may be the movie you saw on your first date or book the exact table you had your first meal at.

6. Create a hand-written card. Write, "I love you" in as many different languages as you can find and write inside, "No matter how many different ways there are to say it, there aren't enough ways for me to truly express how much I love you."

7. Make a calendar that is similar to the day by day tear off calendars. Write on each day something that you love about your partner. It takes time to create it, as you have 365 days to do, but is well worth it. If you do not have the time, you can just create it for 30 days.

8. Make a coloring and activity book. Make up a story and draw all the pictures (plain computer paper is fine) and outlined them with pen. Bind it all together with a cover and gave some crayons to go with it. It could be the story of how you met, or how life would be so sad if you had not met!

9. Paint two coffee mugs so the next time you sit down to enjoy a latte, you can drink out of your own personalised coffee mugs!

10. Bake a cake and write in icing on the top a little love note.

Are you stuck in a rut?
